As the Communications and Program Officer, John manages all of the Foundation’s communications work, including the website, external relations and grantee communications capacity building. He also oversees the organization’s knowledge management and grantmaking process team and the Jewish Values grant portfolio as well as other social justice-focused grants. Prior to joining the Foundation, John was a social impact advisor at a Chicago-based agency and worked on U.S. Agency for International Development post-conflict and post-disaster response projects in the U.S. and overseas, including as the Deputy Director of a transitional governance and post-conflict grant program in Kyrgyzstan. John is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and serves on the boards of Chicago-based arts, music and sports non-profit organizations.
